Galaxy S showcase ram issue

I just upgraded to the showcase from a proclaim and I have noticed a lot of slowdown it seems to run all the way down to 39 mb of ram the proclaim always had around at least 80 mb. I have had freeze ups causing me to unplug the battery. Any suggestions.
