Default CyanogenMod ROM for Stratosphere?

So it appears that there is no CyanogenMod ROM for the Stratosphere and I don't understand why... we have root, ClockworkMod Recovery, custom kernels, complete source code, tools, plenty of users, and other complete ROM images already... so why no CyanogenMod yet?

Don't get me wrong, I have heard awesome things about the Tweaked 2.1 ROM by dwitherell and appreciate his and everyone elses hard work on this, and although I haven't tried it yet I will be soon, but I have used CyanogenMod before and really liked it.

I am asking everyone to show your support to get CyanogenMod officially supported for the Stratosphere by registering for CyanogenMod Forums and showing your support by posting in this thread: Samsung Stratosphere (SCH-I405) - Unofficial Ports - CyanogenMod Forum

The Strat doesn't have that many users who like to mod, it seems to me. It's not a great phone. Yes, it has 4G and the keyboard, but my much older Droid X2 always outperformed it in every aspect. Hell, even my little Ascend felt more stable than my Strat. It just feels to me like something they hurried through production in order to get another 4G phone out there, and as a consequence they never smoothed out the edges. When folks ask me about it, I try to steer them away.

It seems like they did a knock off of the Samsung Epic 4g.. Well what your describing doesn't sound anything like the phone I have now. It's unfortunate Samsung did a rush release of what could have been a great phone. As for CM development, while I'm not a dev myself, I can't image that the software can be to far from the Samsung Epic 4g which already as CM7 CM9 Kang's, and both MIUIs. If you are really interested, I'm sure some of the devs from our section in XDA would love to help out. I understand this is time consuming and we all have lives, so this is only an invitation. Especially since my family will switching to verizon soon, and my Epic is so great I'd probably buy the Strat, but the rooting community seems disappointing since it wasn't a top notch phone at release. I hope it continues to grow though, and anything I can do to help just ask, though I can't do much.

The problem is the RIL (Radio Interface Layer) samsung didn't release it, we have no way to easily make the radio on this phone work on any non stock roms. We have no non-stock roms. No AOSP, AOKP, etc, due to this. If the RIL is released or someone works it out we might have a shot. The Droid Charge is getting some development for that, but after months and not seeing any real progress I'm not expecting much for this phone.

I don't know if you've noticed, but we don't have a section in XDA. I don't know if they're lazy or elitist, but there's no Stratosphere section there.

But someone has come forward with a real possibility for getting around the RIL problems, and if it bears fruit we may see some real sexy ROMs on this phone.

Incidentally, it's only similar to the Epic in design. Internally, it's much more similar to the Droid Charge.
