End of August is still the goal. Admittedly though, a tough one to make.

p.s. This is all relay - I actually don't have anything to do with the development of that app other than reviewing screenshots and giving advice. That's all Rob (and the developer).

Doubt it, lol, not everyone in AF frequent the Lounge though :P Most people simply stay in their phone forums.

While I respect the concept of a dedicate app, tapatalk offers people many forums in a single app which is rather usable.

I hope you reconsider and return tapatalk, as you can offer both without any issues.

I like the notion of having more than one method of that kind of access here: both Tapatalk and the Phandroid app.

It's just that the Tapatalk vulnerability was poised to do serious security damage here; that makes admins real gun-shy of an application.

We see a lot of posts citing the security fix as "proof" that it's ok now, so "why don't they re-instate Tapatalk?" After all, it's used at XDA, etc.

The answer to that might be along similar lines as the answer to, "why don't you take that bus to work anymore, you know, the one where you had your life threatened?"

Of course, the answer could also be in the affirmative as to bringing it back.. but I doubt that.

In that case, someone could hold a survey of the riders of the red line in DC where the train ran into another that was parked at the station due to a switching/sensor problem and killed 9 people including the operator and ask them why they still ride it eventhough the problem has not been corrected and they "sort of" know what went wrong.

Admittedly, neither this forum nor Tapatalk are at all significant when you are comparing the only means you have to get to your job in this economy, but I was just going along with your question.

Well, looking back, it appears my fun was in giving a hyperbolic analogy to the Tapatalk removal here.

Your fun was in remarking about my fun. Now that will cost you, brother.

Just got the update - our App guy will be out a couple weeks. So no beta this month.

I will say though, the alpha looks pretty good - mostly functional - I think it will a welcome application.

Sorry guys, but I'm not waiting patiently. At least not without venting (so please forgive my frustration),

Like seriously, is it about security or money?
I'll pay whatever you want for some sort of premium access that allows tapatalk or some other app. Hell, I'll program the damn thing. This site blows on a mobile browser, compounded by the fact that mods keep reorganizing things so I can't even use the top nav links. You may be trying to keep things clean and organized, but please keep in mind the way the users/members will use this.

Yes, this is by far the best android community around, but i'm starting to learn to move on, since I can't access it and when I can, I can't find the stuff I was looking for.

The former. See this post earlier in the thread.

There are several tools that can help you. For example, you can "subscribe" to threads that you want to keep track of and your User CP will alert you to any fresh posts. The Favorite Forums side panel is there to allow quick and easy access to the forums that you visit most often.

Out of those quarter of a million registered users, a grand total of 33 of them, as of today, in a poll I began on the 29th of July, responded "yes" to the poll's query, "have you ever used Tapatalk here?"

Yes or No: Have You Ever Used Tapatalk Here?

I'm so tired of talking about this and having to repeat myself over and over. I've addressed it several times - and been rather clear that it is not about money or security at this point.

I've responded to this topic plenty of times. I'm closing this thread, and will announce the project application the very very very instant it is available. Believe you me, I want it here more than anyone else.
