Ok it's been a couple weeks now and everyone has had time to adjust. Now, time for the feedback.
How do you feel about the placement of the AC section (as shown in attached)?
Get your votes in and let's get this settled. Part of the idea is for NEW members to better see the Android related stuff and that's not going to be reflected in this vote - but it will be considered when weighing the results.
p.s. Yes I see the latest thread in Mod CP is displayed - no biggie though.

introductions and team forums at the top, but the lounge really should remain as this is an android community first.
But also speaking as someone whos designed for advertismment revenue, the lounge is also one of the most heavily trafficed areas... so it should be in a better spot. Especially better than some of the phone/tablet forums that arent even used.

Fair enough, but 99% of users in the lounge are and were originally here because of their phones.
Are you suggesting we rename the forum from AF to theloungewithasideofandroid.com

I guess the difference between the lounge and device forums is that (most) people will go hunting for their device forum out of necessity, just like they went hunting for an android forum in the first place. Whereas the lounge is the kinda place you discover just because it's there and caught your eye, not because you sought it out.
Personally my guess would be that the device sections would see little extra traffic for being placed at the top, whereas the lounge loses out from being at the bottom.

JMO but agreeing with INTRODUCTIONS definitely best at top -with hopes of it being first thing newbies see. First Reading Site Rules/Guidelines, then Introducing themselves, then on to read Meet the Team.

Well, I have one thought about it, if we are to "care." ...
...It's Android Forums, so the Lounge being at the top, one of the first seen, attracts many threads with device related queries, etc needing to be moved. The Lounge at the bottom really cut down on that, I've noticed.
Android Lounge also has that issue with new members coming in and stating their specific device but still not being aware of that device's forum area.. that's a bit easier to take, but the Lounge is way off for those sorts of threads, very inconvenient for the brand new user to land there with a device issue.

It has been hard getting used to it but I to don't think it needs to be at top. Move intros to the top section, move all the 'archived' sections to the very bottom, etc

Android Community
Android Discussion
Phones, Tablets, etc
Community Info & Talk
It all makes sense to me. The Phone/Tablets section is useful, but once you find it, it doesn't need to be at the top. It's a pain for the eyes and a waste of "screen real estate", even when minimized. The same thing goes for all the other less visited forums, such as Devs, Carriers, etc.
The users will come for help with their devices, looking for information about Android, etc. They'll know it's about Android. We want them to see the "Android Community" section and the "Android Discussion" section (to a lower extent), for them to post in there and keep coming back to the forums.
The "Community Info & Talk" is important but only for regular users and even then it's not something they'll check daily so it should be at the bottom.
Yeah, that's exactly how it was before. The layout was good-looking too, which is important.
Just my humble opinion.

You know what Phases?
We have the forum having a default layout as so:
Intro,
Android Discussion
Android Development
Phones, Tablets, etc
Community Info & Talk
etc
Now we allow members the ability to edit where the sections can be on the main page so they can customize it to have the section they utilize the most at the top
PROBLEM SOLVE!!!

Well, that'd be an option, but then we'd simply be arguing about what the default would be. (If it were to occur, that is.)
Honestly, I saw that the top section was missing and didn't even think about looking below all the phone, tablet, and carrier sub forums for the sections. I thought they were removed until the poll was placed in the announcements.
Since my laptop officially died... I probably won't get the chance to type out what i wanted. Basically it was some massive reorganization suggestions.
