Do some forums not require users to prefix their threads?
The TF300 seems to look that way:
ASUS Transformer Pad 300 - Android Forums
Edit: if you want this in the Suggestion Box, go ahead and move.

The forum should require members pick one before posting a new thread.
I've copied this to the suggestion box and feedback section. Please let us know if you see any other prefixed sections doing this.

BTW, I've prefixed all those in the TF300T forum, but about half were missing one beforehand.

Should all things root sections require this? I don't believe I have ever been required to provide a prefix for those.

As far as I'm aware, prefixes aren't enabled at all on any ATR sections.

Correct, none of the ATR sections use prefixes.

What prefixes can you use. You usually prefix them yourself if its a ROM or a guide

We can set any prefixes, sure, but when we discussed this at length a good while back it was decided ATR should go without.
I'm happy to revisit that discussion if we need.

Previous to prefixes there were subforums for support, accessories and tips (you can still see it if you go to some of the older device sections). This, however, meant that users would have to click and look in multiple sections just to be able to help a user. Staff was constantly moving support questions from Tips/Tricks to Support or from regular sections to Support. People didn't get timely help and often reposted in the general section to get answers to their questions.
After much discussion they decided to try prefixes instead of the subforums... and they have (mostly) worked out well!
ATR sections never had subforums and the general agreement at the time was that rooted users knew to create their own prefixes if they wanted them (in regards to if it were a ROM, Guide, Mod, etc).
