Default G1 2.2 Update

I know that they are saying the G1 wont be getting the 2.2 froyo update but what is the main reason why the G1 wont get it?

I was looking around and was wondering is there easier way to get the update?

i found this 1 but wanted to know if u will keep all your info such as contacts...etc.

The HTC Dream?

1. The Hardware won't run all the features.

2. HTC Want to sell there newer phones, and don't want people sticking to there old ones.

Yes there is, ROOT It, there are loads of custom ROM's for it.

...How'd you mean?

A custom ROM Is like a update that you flash. You need to ROOT your device first. Go down to the G1 Part of the forum to learn more about it.

Did you install the google apps zip as indicated in the cyanogenmod instructions? I think that is where Market and others are located.
