Default the gps\locator thing question plz help

Does anyone know how to disable and enable the thing in the phone that pin points my location I guess its the gps I'm not sure but does anyone know how??

If you are running 1.6, long press on the home screen, select widgets, select power control. On the widget that you just added to your home screen you will see a button that looks like a little satellite dish. This will be your toggle switch to turn on and off your GPS. You can also do this in your settings menu, but this is the easiest way to toggle that setting.
