Default G2 MMS Can't Download!

I use a g2 (t-mobile) and sometimes when I get picture messages it comes as MMS and has a download button. When i click the download button it says downloading but never downloads. Also if i scroll in the message window where the "downloading" icon disappears than scroll back down it goes back to the "download" icon. this is in standard android messaging. Anybody? Please help!

Its the stock messaging app. Try handcent, that cleared up my husband's issue on his g2. It has a setting to auto download, and once you click it, it downloads and you can see the message.
