Default Factory reset with root

I need to clear everything off my phone because its going to someone else when I get my galaxy s2 and I wanted to know if a factory reset would be the right thing to do and if it would cause any problems. Im new to Phandroid btw.

Do you have a custom ROM on your phone? If you do a factory reset, I believe that you should just have a blank phone, running the custom ROM - the phone would still be rooted, but would have no data on it.
