Default LG Optimus 2x (P999) to 2.3

Hello I am new here, and I would like to ask a few questions

Basically I got my LG Optimus 2X (P999) from kijiji, it came unlocked and with android 2.22 installed, right now I am using a FIDO SIM card, and it works fine. That's why I would like to know IF I can upgrade to 2.3 without losing my unlock and how to do it. Thanks!

If the phone is unlocked, updating the ROM wont change that.

It's the G2X and the WIND Optimus 2X.

Stupid naming really. That aside, this is in the wrong section really, as stuff for the 'proper' O2X will do bad things to your phone.

I'll move it to the G2X forum.

There are two ways to update.

The easier way:

Settings > About Phone > Software Update > Software update check.

To check to see if it's still available.

If not, then the other option is from the LG website using a PC.

LG G2x Driver Updates
I have the Optimus 2X that used to be from WIND I believe. Now about that driver you suggested, does the fact that it's from T-Mobile have any impact on my phone?

Well, if the G2x and Wind Optimus 2x are in fact, the same device, you shouldn't have a problem.

Honestly, you may not even need the drivers, you can try using the LG Updater tool first, if it doesn't work, then you may need to instal the drivers for your computer.
