Notsure No Format sd card choice on MyTouch 4g!

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I've been looking on here for an hour and can't find an answer to my exact question.

I bought a new 32GB sd card for my MyTouch 4G, and am trying to put it in my phone. Everyone says to format the card under Settings-SD & phone storage. But when I go to this, there is NO choice for Formatting. I have:

Total Space
Available Space
Unmount SD card
Erase SD card

as my options...

It shows the card as having 29.71 GB available, but HOW am I supposed to format it? Does it automatically format it when I mount it?

THANK YOU!

It appears that the position in the menu structure that used to read Format SD Card now (Gingerbread) reads Erase SD Card. Are they the same? I don't know. You could always format it in your PC (assuming your PC has a slot for an SD card).
