Default Former Behold 2 Users Uniting Under HTC Banner...This is Great!

Just wanted to say hey to all my new fellow Mytouch Sliders and say how great it is to see so many of the former behold 2 users (like myself) coming back together with a new, much better phone. We had a great community of users on the behold forum and its nice to see our new home (the mytouch slide forum) coming together in the same way! well enough rambling back to playing with my new toy...just wanted to reach out to everyone

So... has anyone discovered some apps that we now have access to with 2.1 that we didn't with 1.6?

Helix launcher is good if you're not diggin espresso ui...i like espresso myself, but some might want a different feel, and of course we get the official twitter app with 2.1, which i like better then the stock integration with espresso.

i haven't had a lot of time to play with it due to being regional truck driver... but I love the Genius Button, it allows me to text the wife legally while driving the truck (Federal DOT made it illegal for us to text and drive). even with my 500Hp Detroit roaring at full throttle it makes very very few mistakes on the speech to text

Yeah I actually really like this espresso UI... very nice looking. I think even when root becomes available, I'll just get root access to remove stuff but keep the espresso UI going.

And yea... the Genius Button is win.

I LOVE IT!!! Espresso UI isn't bad either.

I was only getting about 1/2 day on a charge, mainly because I was playing with it so much. Installed Advanced task killer and it seems to be helping.

I want to root so I can connect to corporate Cisco VPN. I am still miffed why this hasn't been added to the Android OS... It will be soon though I am sure.

After having the BH2 since Feb, I now realize that I have never experience a smooth Android OS like this. It really is fast - glad I took BH_MAN's advice on this phone!

The BH2 sits on Craig's list now to see if I can get some more coin for it than WallMart will give me.

Took pic of cat...flash made his white fur wash out and the background still fairly dark...I'm gonna mess with it some more, but so far score one (and only one) for the behold2...it's camera is better, but outside is good...gonna try video inside now too.

i hit the camera on both my BH2 and my Slide at nearly the same time and I think part of the reason for wash out is the flash is brighter and more focused on the Slide (round on Slide vs. rectangle on BH2)

I hate to say this, but the behold 2 camera was much better guys. Htc can make android sets, but they couldn't make a good camera if their lives depended on it.

Yeah Samsung has incredible hardware for the most part... in everything they make. They just fail and can die slowly in a fire.

How did you guys get yours already? From the retail stores? Im guessing you guys have black/white. My local store had no Red so I had to order through phone =( . Patiently waiting. Ex behold user also btw.

Oh by the way, How is the battery holding up for you guys? What type of charger does it take?

My battery's doing pretty good... I had it fully charged this morning at about 7am. It's almost 10 here and I still have half left. I've actually used WiFi quite a bit to download apps, used GPS earlier for a while, and played music while driving for a couple of hours.

FTE!!

My only complaints so far are the check marks in settings should have been red or something that contrasts better than baby blue on white. And I really liked how the BH2 could drop icons anywhere, and not snap to grid. But 7 screens over 3 makes up for that.

I do wish I could set ringtones for SMS & email accounts, so I might install Handcent to handle the SMS, and just try to use gmail more (I have all 3 synced now!)

we have a white and a black (atleast until I pass a corporate store that has red) and yeah we got'em in retail store. battery is doing pretty good considering I use the net a lot on mine, the usb cable for plugging into coputer plugs into the supplied wall mount charger just like an iPod which was great for me because I already had a 12v to twin usb charger for my truck so I didn't have to shell out more money on yet another "car" charger that was only good for the one phone

Hey fellow Beholders, it's good to see that most of you have moved on to a stable device.

One question though, do you have the option to disable sense UI and how is the GPU's performance?. Do any of the new gameloft games work flawlessly without lag?

As far as I know, there isn't a way to disable the sense UI, and according to Small displays produce big results in GPU benchmarks – Android and Me , the Slide outperforms the top Android phones in regards to GPU performance. I have not tried any games yet. If they're free, I'd be happy to do some testing for ya!

Same here. I was pretty skeptical about having to buy it, but the discount helped and if I may be blunt, I really like the phone.

The UI is quite snappy even with the Espresso-flavored Sense. I'm getting much better battery life and GPS location than the BH 2. More importantly, the phone does swype much better and of course the keyboard. (which I will admit is the not the greatest, but it's a keyboard!) Even the onscreen keyboards pwn typing on the bh2.

I say this not to further poo on the BH2, just that I have been quite surprised at much like I this phone.

I have one gripe though and i think it's semi-reasonable - I got better reception on the BH2 but even if the net is a little slower, it's bearable with the overall performance of the phone.

I'm still digging my way through it and 2.1, can't wait to find out some fun stuff.

Default New touch phone user!

I have the slide, just got it on Tuesday and I am SO in love with it. However... I am also sooo lost. There is a lot of stuff I still dont know. If anyone can provide me with tips, I would so appreciate it!

I did not have a Behold II myself, BUT my BF has one, so I hope that qualifies me to be in the club! )

How do I move icons off the home screen?

How do I clear failed picture uploads to facebook that are across the top of the screen, near the time?

I uninstalled an app called "Twlight Clock" *dont laugh, I just wanted to see what it was LOL * and it is showing an error on my home screen saying "problem loading gadget". I would like that to go away. How? :O)

Thank you in advance for all of your help!

Lol. TWILIGHT! Just delete the widget that says problem loading widget. It won't work no more since it's not installed no more. Move/delete the icons by selecting it and hold the icon for a while and then moving them to the place where you tap for the menu to pop up.
