Default TWO s off methods!

moonshine has been released:
moonshine xda thread
direct link:
http://moonshine.io/

and also a well known team has released what they are calling a developer early access edition:
revolutionary

i tried revolutionarys method partially becasue it used more commands and was slightly less automated, partially becasue it didnt require linux, and mostly becasue moonshine doesnt list a download for t mobile us yet.

worked like a charm on my first try, casueing much giddy schoolgirl type giggling

heres what it looks like,if anyone has the notion to try it:
Code:
c:\miniadb_m7>adb push revone /data/local/tmp/
3272 KB/s (646704 bytes in 0.193s)

c:\miniadb_m7>adb shell
shell@android:/ $ cd /data/local/tmp
cd /data/local/tmp
shell@android:/data/local/tmp $ chmod 755 revone
chmod 755 revone
shell@android:/data/local/tmp $ su
su
root@android:/data/local/tmp # ./revone -P
./revone -P
revone successful - please reboot to continue.
root@android:/data/local/tmp #

*physically reboot phone(dont use adb reboot)

c:\miniadb_m7>adb shell
shell@android:/ $ cd /data/local/tmp
cd /data/local/tmp
shell@android:/data/local/tmp $ su
su
root@android:/data/local/tmp # ./revone -s 0 -u
./revone -s 0 -u
revone successful.
root@android:/data/local/tmp # exit
exit
shell@android:/data/local/tmp $ exit
exit

With Revone, Possibly. There have been varying degrees of success with the temp root that tool uses. You can remove all visual traces of having unloc s off, I would recommend just doing that. Being unlocked and rooted already, it worked for me on the first try.

With moonshine, you need to be unlocked and rooted with the one. Last I checked, there was not a moonshine download for T Mobile.

As long as you are somewhat familiar with the command window, my code box above and XDA thread should be all you need. There is also an HTC Dev thread in international one sub-forum if you need it. Holler if you have questions

I have not dig/read into it, but s-off is this easy now?

It was difficult with HTC Evo 4G LTE.

I don't know how easy it was to actually come up with the exploit , but actually running revone was incredibly easy for me. took all of about 3 minutes, lol

Hey guys, I have t-mobile and did a warranty replacement for my original that was unlocked and rooted. I did the revone s-off and have it *** LOCKED *** and it does not say tampered, but it does say s-off.

Can I send it back?

you can. some phones came s off,so likley they would not notice. if you want to s on,reference this thread: [how to]return to 100% stock from revone or moonshine s off

I have t-mobile and from my research the RUU still isn't available.

That being said, thank you so much that was exactly what I needed to know!

I might have to deal with s-off soon because if I want to update my firmware, I have to go back to unroot first.

i did rev one,and it was extremely easy, and fast. it worked fine for me on the first time.allready being unlocked and rooted may have helped.

i havent used moonshine,so i cant comment from experience. from the directions the phone may reboot several times. so while it may be easier in that you just have to run the program and then watch it,it may take longer and be slightly more nerve-racking

not saying you should use rev one, just giving some feedbAck. imo its awsome that we actually have a choice in s off methods to use.

I think I might do the rev one and its just typing on the dos prompt and follow the instructions. I don't like toolkit and automated process.

I now have Revoutionary HD ROM on my phone.

I don't see the list of supported ROM that can use to get s-off with Moonshine.

i have no idea. last i looked at moonshine, they said you had to be on the stock rom,and at that time there was no t mobile download for the tool. ill take a closer look later, but only thing i can say without looking is make sure you follow their directions exactly,as they are not very nice in IRC if you need support and have varied from their instruction.

edit- sorry, when I run the ./revone -P command

Is s-off even needed to flash roms? Or should I even bother. Also, I read somewhere that when I flashed the ruu to get it back to stock, it may have made it so I can't access s-off anymore. Anyone know if this is true? Thanks.

The revone s-off work's in hboot 1.44.0000 you can check your in the bootloader screen.
I'm not sure if the RUU you used updated it or not?
At any rate you don't need s-off to flash roms... I recommend CleanRom it's posted in the AT&T root forum

yes,it is true. while the t mobile ruu did not update hboot past 1.44,it did change something else that has patched both revone and moonshine's exploits.

as clsa said, you do not need s off to flash roms, but it is doing several other security checks and has several limitations. it just all depends on the extent to wich you would like to modify your phone.

i personally am an advocate of s off,as long as you are capable of using some caution as to what you flash and why

So, I used the most recent ruu, so I'm assuming s-off is not impossible. Which is probably good, as I killed my phone 8 hours after I bought it, and it took me two days to get it back working again. I tried the modaco switch, as I wanted the gpe experience (I want as close to stock as possible), but that is what started the problems, so I don't want to mess with that right now. Which rom do you suggest? Will changing the roms affect the radios at all? Thanks all. I'm coming from Moto Bionic to the one, so this is all new to me.

what that statement means,is "yes. s off is impossible if youve accepted either the OTA or run the RUU, and have updated to 1.27.531.11"

your stuck with s on until another exploit is found.

the first rule of rooting,is always take advantage of exploits when they pop up. they tend to get patched quickly.

a good rule with htc is never accept an ota or run a new ruu(leaked or official) while s on. the tighter security gets, the harder it is to crack.

The last two nights I'd been up until 3 AM trying to fix this stupid phone, so I'll let a few grammatical errors go...

I just bought the phone a couple of days ago, so it may have already had the patch on it, and also been impossible to s-off anyways. Oh well. When I did reflash the ruu the numbers matched, so that makes me believe it was already there.

Ok, well I guess it's time to go ROM hunting. I hate flashing and reflashing just to find the ROM I want, so it'll be a lot of reading to find exactly what I want. Thanks for the help.

BTW, was it you the wrote the instructions on how to RUU on the other thread? I'm not sure if this is always important, but I couldn't get it to work until the boatloader was relocked. So, you may want to add that to your instructions. Just a thought, again, thanks.

it was mentioned in that thread that the bootloader needs to be relocked on s on phones to run an ruu. the relock command is not included in the quote box because those are a very universal set of instructions, and not all phones have unlockable bootloaders, nor is the relock neccessary on an s off phone. sorry if it caused you some confustion. ill add that bit in to clarify it for others in the future.

at any rate, glad you are sorted. you shouldnt be disapointed with the rom selection for the one, there are several good ones, from slightly modded stock to modded AOSP to modded google play. just holler if you have questions. dont be afraid to start new threads,or post in old ones we are here to help

I finally got s-off! I WAS SOOO EASY! Easy then any HTC device that I have before!

I would like to say those posting on XDA is so long and so wordy that it discourage people from doing it!

All I did was follow this video: QbKing77 | Your Tech Simplified

Make sure your HBOOT is not 1.54 which means if don't buy the phone when it first came out, then the exploit has been patched! Does that means buy the phone even if you don't need it now?

glad you got s off finally phones with minor updates can be downgraded back to s-offable firmware,as long as they still contain 1.44 hboot.

folks on 1.54 are for now, screwed no way to downgrade hboot or s off 1.54 yet.

hopefully new purchases are still comming out of the box on release firmware

hopefully new purchases are still comming out of the box on release firmware
Damn,

Is this still true?
