Default activating and porting.

i activated my sim and used port option. Then when i wanted to add money t-mobile wouldn't accept my debit card... it gave me an error saying that i have to set up auto payment in order to continue. I don't really like auto payment.. so i closed the window. Now i'd like to fill that $30 unlimited data plan and i have no idea how to fill! I wanna buy redeem card but when i enter my phone number it saying This is not a valid T-Mobile phone number. Please re-enter your phone number.

What to do?

Likely the T-Mobile servers haven't updated your account with your ported phone number. You likely need to use the phone number T-Mobile gave you, when you activated the SIM card, in order to add the card. The phone number should correct itself within a few days.

And alternate method is to get the T-Mobile "My Account" app from the Play store, you can add a payment from the app with the phone connected over WiFi.

Hmmm... When I was in a Costco, yesterday, talking to the phone kiosk people, they told me porting is usually complete w/in a half hour or so.

I wouldn't want to do w/o my phone for two-three days. I actually use it, as a phone, quite regularly.

And for what they are talking about, they are right. If you notice, the OP said his number had been successfully ported already. My experience with T-Mobile, however, is that while the "port" is successfully completed it takes them time to update the account info, since T-Mobile uses the phone number as the account ID. So they fix the phone number on the phone, and the phone acts as if the port is completed, but it takes one or two business days to fix the account information.

Ah, okay. So if we were to make the switch, we'd just want to make sure to get any stuff associated with actually being able to use the result, such as billing, straightened-out right off. Not a problem. As opposed to the OP, for example, we actually prefer automated billing/deduction/withdrawal/transfer/payment systems.
