Default At&t Galaxy S2 on T-mobile/Solavei

Well Im thinking about doing that Solavei business where you pay $49 a month for unlimited services and you make money if you refer people. Anyways, I purchased an unlocked At&t Galaxy S2 and I want to use on the T-Mobile network (Which is the network Solavei uses) I hear thats theres no 4G/LTE on it since T-mobile uses different frequency 1900/2100, I hear you only get 3G speeds, anything you can do to receive 4g speeds? I understand that it depends on where you live as well. Any help would be appreciated

If you have the phone in hand, Solavei has a phone compatibility check where you enter the IMEI. This should tell you what you can expect with that phone. As I understand it, the problem is T-Mobile mostly uses 1700mhz band and AT&T doesn't, so it's hit or miss if an AT&T phone has that ability - this is why there's been no iPhone.

T-Mobile is in the process of refarming their network to be iPhone friendly - adding 1900mhz. This would also make them compatible with other AT&T phones lacking the1700mhz band. If you're in one of those areas you're golden.

Here is a frequency explanation.

See what the IMEI check tells you.

I switched to Solavei service in January. I just finished signing up my second trio. Let me know if you have any questions - I'll do my best to answer.

For some reason T-Mobile is being really vague about what areas have been refarmed. I don't know of a reliable way to find out besides trying it. I don't know how often they add new areas. There used to be a website trying to keep track but it's down right now.
