Default WILL AT&T LOSE CUSTOMERS TO T-MOBILE (New UNLIMITED Data Plan)

T-Mobile is about to."stick it" to AT&T with a big September 5th announcement! Its got to do with UNLIMITED Data Plans!

Default AT&T, What's Up? Now MetroPCS Offers Unlimited Data Plans

I am getting a leetle annoyed at AT&T now. Looks like other providers (small that they may be) are offering Unlimited plans and makes me wonder if AT&T made the current "The More You Pay - the less you get" (cough) Promo because they are in a customer-fleecing mode. MetroPCS is now joining T-Mobile to offer reasonable rates for UNLIMITED DATA.

it will bite them in the butt eventually, right now since their customer base is so small they have the capacity to appease the few heavy users for now, but once they get more customers who switch, they will start having congestion issues and they will find a way to back out of the new plans. it happened to Sprint.

At one time.i.would say "or the moment they hop on the 'iphone wave' " but we got some GOOD competition androids out there that could fill'em up sooner than later. I still might "scale way back" on att amd open an acfount with tmo for the time being.

It would be cheaper for mec thanks to that "THE MORE YOU SPEND" promo.

I'm not sure how good Tmobile coverage is but having unlimited data doesn't matter if you don't have a good signal. I get excellent coverage with AT&T so unless I am proven that I would get the same with Tmobile, I'm not biting.

Yes, definitely coverage is the primary concern. I had tmo up till 2008. It was great where I lived. Then switchedto AT&T (unknutted-up version of att) and have even better reception, no dropped calls and the device can acually move data smoothly on att data without wi-fi, but I keep wifi on.

But if tmos reception is good in my area now, I will be signing up and just have to accts..while I scale back from att.

Certainly worth looking at. I'm not happy paying what I do, but will be cautious. My contract is up in March.

Well as a Metro customer for four years I was pretty happy with their unlimited plan. I also knew people that were less happy with T-Mo than me for the simple fact that they had crappy signal.

I switched from Metro a few weeks back because their network just was not good enough. Now I'm a new AT&T customer and I am happy with them all the way around.

Better network,better signal and better CS than Metro or T-Mo imo. Do I pay more? Of course but not that much more and for better service and top of the line,newest phone models so the extra money to me is worth it.

Budget carriers are making strides no doubt, but they are what they are......budget carriers with smaller more unreliable and somewhat outdated networks. That's just my opinion though. If people are happy with them, then that's good. I know I was happy with Metro for 4 years until like I said their network was just not good enough for my needs.


The fact that Metro and T-Mo are saying the word "unlimited" doesn't really mean unlimited and the pricing structure isn't that far off from AT&T or the other two big carriers.

In the end people need to make the right choices for them and do the proper reseasrch before changing. I did and am happy thus far.

InsaneCrane! (lol, cool screen name). All very good points.

I was on At&t then switched to T-Mo when AT&T (cough) "sold" the mobility business to CINGULAR (me thinks they did so to enhance their overall ratings by "not" having to include the really bad customer ratings which would deflate the overall corp rating). And back in mid 2005 or so, there were a LOT of dropped calls and other network headaches. I have had many adjustments and dropped calls reimbursments. But I still liked ATT until the CINGULAR thing.

Then when I relocated, my tmo signal was not good at all, otherwise, I was really satisfied with tmo, but when Att (cough) resurfaced, and my relocated coverage was great for att...i came back to CINGULAR....(oops, they want us to say AT&T Mobility or something similar). Been happy, service coverage even got better..able to hold my grabby hands around my unlimited data, even upgraded one of the lines on the account where two lines are on the 2GB data each, to an LTE device and was able to keep all my current plans... was assured no back-end system macro or trigger will not change my entire plans and losing my unlimited data when it detects an lte device....im sure the csr was glad when I hung up.
