A year on from the launch of the Huawei Nova series, the company has yet to announce any plans to bring the Nova 2 to Europe. Nevertheless, the phones were on display at its booth at IFA 2017 in Berlin, giving us our first look at the company's mid-tier flagships for 2017.
Huawei unveiled the nova 2 and nova 2 plus handsets back in May, but so far these have only been sold in the company's home country of China. That, however, should change soon - at least for the bigger nova 2 plus. That's because the US FCC has recently certified two new versions of this smartphone.
Huawei has taken the wraps off the Nova 2 and the Nova 2 Plus, which feature metal unibodies and only a few differences. Nova 2 is 5" while Nova 2 Plus is 5.5". Both feature 2.5D curved glass displays, but are powered by the new Kirin 659 processor.
A new leak has revealed the specs for the Huawei Nova 2, which will launch on May 26th. The specs are as follows:
- 5.2-inch FHD Display
- HiSilicon Kirin 658 SoC
- 20MP Front Camera
- 8MP + 12MP Dual-rear Cameras
- 3,000mAh Battery
The original Nova 2 from Huawei had a similar design to the Nexus 6P, but this new model changes that up. A couple of images revealed on the certification page shows curved antenna bands, a rear fingerprint scanner and two cameras on the back.
