Confused Help with Tasker?

Hi, just got Tasker on my samsung g.note 10.1 and I'm trying to make a new profile for university, I'm trying to get it to run the profile when I'm on campus but whenever I choose "location" the map never loads, I just see a blue flag sitting on an empty grid. I've left it alone for 5 minutes, restarted the app and tried again (and again and again), tried it on two different days, no matter how strong my connection is it doesn't load the map.

I've got GPS and wifi turned on in the settings.

Currently connected to home wifi. The connection is strong, google maps loads within seconds. No idea what's wrong here.

Is there any way I can input the GPS co-ordinates to set the location instead?
Any help/advice appreciated

I don't think you can manually input it. I don't understand why your not getting the map to load . But if it's working on your home wifi you could scroll through your map in tasker, find your desired location, set a flag there.

The map loads on the google maps application, not in tasker. No matter what I try, the map inside tasker doesn't load.

I have done the same thing you're trying to do. Instead of using location, I use cell tower recognition which is just as effective (unless you don't get a signal inside the buildings) and saves battery since the GPS is not constantly searching.

Create a profile. Choose state>Phone>Cell Near. Then click scan. Once it detects a tower, click the check mark then add your tasks as you normally would. Or wait for a while and maybe it will pick up multiple ones during one scan. I had to walk around campus and scan at different locations to pick up the different towers, though.
