Default Profile Help: Is Music Playing?

So, basically I want to have a profile where the condition would be asking whether music is playing and then have an action which is a reaction to that. I have seen an app in the play store called "Tasker Is Music Playing Plugin" which appears to do exactly this, however it costs $.99 and appears to have been designed for the pre-tasker-4.0 era which worries me, otherwise I would probably just suck it up and buy it... Is there a value I can input which would do this for me so I don't have to buy this app/worry about its compatibility? Thanks!

You could use an application context which checks for ask the applications that can play music...would that do what you want?

The App context presents a problem because it only detects apps in the foreground. You can detect apps in the background using shell command. See my post 3/31/13 here
Stop tasker from turning things off that are manually on

Just added tasker support to Media Utilities. Should give you easy play status along with a few other options.
