Default NFC & Tasker Help

I hope this is the right section for this, and just in case it's useful information, I'm using a Note 2.

Today I had some NFC tags arrive, and I installed Tasker over the weekend, so I'm still new to both.

I'm using Trigger (formerly NFC Task Launcher), and created a car profile - when I scan the tag it turns off WiFi, increases brightness and media volume, speaks 'Car mode enabled', and reads out my texts. When I scan it again, it puts it all back to normal and says 'car mode disabled'.

Tasker has a few tasks set up - between 11.30pm and 830am it is on mute. When I'm on my WiFi at home, my PIN is disabled, and enabled when I'm away from my WiFi. I have a shortcut on my homescreen to a camera, which doesn't open the camera but just takes a photo immediately, for those moments when you need the shot straight away. I also have a task that when I insert headphones, Poweramp starts.

I would like to make a couple of changes though and I'm stuck on how to do it, so would really appreciate some help.

1) Using Tasker. When I insert headphones I want it to give me the option of music apps (namely Poweramp and TuneIn Radio). How can I do this?
2) Also with Tasker, when my phone is on mute overnight, how can I add specific people to a white list so that if a family member calls at 3am, which is likely an emergency, it rings at normal volume?
3) Is it possible to add to my existing Trigger 'car mode' task to take a location point when I switch it off? So I get in the car, hit the tag, and then when i reach my destination and hit it again to disable car mode, can it take a location point? If so, where would it store it for me to find my car in an unfamiliar place?

Hi richwhite,

I've moved your thread into the Tasker subforum where it will be sure to attract the attention of our resident Tasker neckbeards geeks.

If you haven't yet, be sure to browse through the Tasker Wiki - there are a lot of good Profile examples to check out.

To help you out specifically, here's one that presents a menu of possible actions when headphones are plugged in: Launch Menu of Music Apps When Headset Inserted - Tasker Wiki

And another that includes exceptions for an automatic quiet hours setting: Auto Sleep Mode (with exceptions) - Tasker Wiki

Here's an example for remembering your parking space: Car Parking Timer And Find Car - Tasker Wiki You should be able to modify that to trigger upon tapping the NFC tag.

There's also a HUUUGE thread here that's chock-full of handy profiles used by our members.

Be sure to let us know if you run into any issues with those profiles and/or adapting them to suit your needs.

Thank you! I've been Googling Tasker uses, which is how I got the ones I'm now using, but I'll check out these too.

I've looked at the guide for callers at night but it seems to be for the previous version of the app, as its instructions don't apply to how it works now

The auto sleep more does work with the current version. If you download the xml files and import them into tasker, most of the profile will be set up. You just need to alter the contacts in the state. I use this myself, so know it works.
