I'm on O2 Ireland (which is pretty much the same company) and I can count on waiting at least two months, sometimes longer, to see updates approved and rolled out. I got the July firmware update in early October.

That's why I rooted, rebranded, and went Nordic to get 2.1. No way am I waiting until next year. I might rebrand- not sure yet, I don't know if there's any good reason for me to do so.

ETA: if you choose to rebrand to get the update, make sure you restore the correct APN (I used the APN backup/restore app to do so) or you might get charged a ton of money for using the "wrong" APN- they are very picky about that on O2.

Just a heads up guys. I use to work at o2. Your wasting your time even calling customer services. Nothing gets past down to them until the very last minute. Even then it gets posted on something called the "hub" Its a tiny little message board which people don't pay attention at.

debrand and install 2.1. simple. I took my phone into repair via warranty due to a faulty charger. They took it with Nordic firmware. No questions asked.

Guess I have to wait later on? or.... the news is fake!?? .

My partner's O2 X10 hasn't received 2.1 yet. Will it be over the air or will it need SE's own Update Service software to get it?

Updates this large will require you to use a pc as the phones internal memory will be wiped therefore it can't run itself and maintain an internet connection whilst doing the update.

You can use SEUS or the Support part of PC Companion when it finally comes to O2.
