Root 1.5 root question

Ok, so i want root access on my phone. Im running 1.5, and i dont want the leaked 2.1. I want root access with 1.5. Is this possible? I checked the root thread but theres too much confusing and obscure info in that thread. So if someone could direct me to how to give my phone root access on v. 1.5 please direct me to the place.

Think OP asking about root on 1.5. You can do this. Must root phone and then downgrade to a rooted 1.5. Its been removed from root section, but follow guide on how to root by GrdLock in the root section and then head over to XDA Eris dev section and find the thread about the downgrade with root. I cannot post link here as they ask us not to. Sorry.

What you'll need to do is follow the guide until step 3 then instead of flashing a rom just flash it with the rollback instead. That should get you to 1.5 with root privlidges.
