So, I've had 1.5 since the day the Eris was released. Last night I got the OTA, and for the most part everything is ok. However, there are a couple things I got used to and don't feel like I could live without at this point, and I'm wondering how to set these things up using 2.1 now. Some other things are also bothering me, and maybe some of you can help with those issues, as well.

    1. Most important/annoying issue: I had been using Spare Parts so that I could hit my "End" button to either take me Home, then lock my screen when anywhere on the phone, or to just lock the screen when already Home. That functionality is completely lost. How do I reconfigure this, and how am I supposed to lock the phone besides letting it auto-lock? This seems liek a huge oversight.

    2. I had been using the No Call Log app so that when a call ended, it shot me right back to my home screen. The app still works, but now it takes waaaay long to go back to home, making it completely useless. Any ideas/alternatives?

    3. When I have the Doggcatcher podcast app playing, now I get both a notification bar icon for the Doggcatcher player which is fine and I use, as well as something called "Doggcatcher keep-alive" with the subtitle "playing audio" which is a little soundwave icon...what is this, and how do i get rid of it? I dont need two notification icons for this, and it wasn't like this on 1.5.

    4. The Music app is significantly slower, both to load, and when responding to presses and volume changes. Really, really annoying. Any ideas here?

    5. Finally, when I hit the back button in Google Voice, it takes me Home, but then really quickly back to my inbox...I have to use the Home button to actually go and stay Home...is this a 2.1 bug?

Thanks for any and all help.

on the end button problem for spare parts: go to the app and set up the end button to "go to sleep" your end button should lock your screen now...

"not call log" has an update that allows you to adjust the "wait time" to go back to home screen.

It may be a bug in 2.1 as it does the same thing on my DInc. I haven't gotten the update on my Eris yet so I can't compare that. I just hit the back arrow twice and it works.

Yeah, and even at the fastest wait time, it still takes several seconds, whereas it used to be instant. It's basically useless now. If I manually go to a new screen after a call, not call log will kick in anyway and send me home several seconds after ive already left the dialer, no matter where i am.

weird... mine is set to quick and as soon as I end a call it immediately returns to home. I keep my call history pretty clear too to avoid lag.

It's a "feature". Annoying at first but you do get used to it.

A slight vibration when initiating a call saves battery?

sorry.. i meant that the weaker vibrations on the 4 bottom buttons probably saves a very small amount of battery.

to let you know for sure when you are connected in case the phone screen lags a bit or stays dark on call.

Any ideas on 3 and 4? Why is the music app so damn laggy and slow now? And what is this new icon in Doggcatcher? I didn't update the app for a 2.1 version, so it must be something new with Sense/Android?

I noticed the stock music app is really slow when I was on the leak. Fortunately, I rooted so I just flashed the VanillaDroid ROM which was extremely fast in the Vanilla music player. Still, I wonder why of all things, the Music app got slower.
