10 contact limit for group textingSupport

I came to the GS4/AT&T from a Galaxy Proclaim running 2.3.6 using a VZW MVNO. I thought the 20 contact/group text was a limitation there. Now, I see that I am further restricted to 10 contacts in a group text on Jelly Bean. Or maybe that's an AT&T restriction. Not quite sure.

How can I work around that? I have a travel basketball team that I need to send timely info and my group contact list is a minimum of 20 right now. So this limit of 10 in the group is a PITA for me.

Ok, I can put more than 10 in a group... but it will only let me group text 10 at a time. So effectively, I'm limited to 10 in a group.

My only workaround I can think of is to make multiple groups and name them -1, -2, and -3. Is there a better way?

Hi speedlever. I would suggest checking the play store for group messaging apps. I'm not sure what kind of group messaging it has but you might check Handcent. Its supposed to be one of the best.

Thanks Atma. I've tried Handcent and GoSMSPro on my Gingerbread phone, both of which are nice apps, but they all seem to be restricted by whatever the stock messaging app is limited to. At least with GB and VZW, I had a limit of 20 in a group. But in JB/ATT, I only have 10.

So I'm still searching for a solution.
