Hi guys as promised a quick report about the 1800 mah battery i ordered from obostore.com
the battery arrived today after it was ordered 8days ago in good contion and a sealed
    case.
The battery itself is just a littel bit bigger than the stock 1230mah unit but after carefully pushing it in the battery tab was a littel snug but gentle push had it closed and then it was fired up and it had 75% charge in and this is the best bit battery monitor widget happily showed 1800 MAH wow was going through my head as i had finnaly found after so many other fake batterys a real deal as advertiesed battery.
I must say now that i will come back and give more indeapth reading / numbers after at least 7 charge / discharge cycles but if this is anthing to go by i was watching catch up tv for 10 mins and only lost 1% of my battery witch i would not of got from the stock unit and that is not even a conditioned battery yet god only knows what im likely to get out of this bad boy in time.
It makes me think now i will finnaly get to use my DHD in the manner it was made for and to leave the house without the need of a portable power station in tow lol.
Hope be back end of next week with the magic numbers.

It this help say it with thanks
    the mailman

    Update
Im now on my second charge and went out for over 2 hours walking my dog and listening to online radio the battery had been on all all-night via my xbox usb do a better trickle charge and after getting back home and checking the battery level I was down to 93% with 3 sms and a quick Facebook hit .
Now if I had been using my stock battery we would be in the 70,s % zone
So the moral of this storey is I'm well happy.

just curious about your results. I see you are down to 79% by 1500. I used to be able to achieve that and would drop to about 50 by the sleep time and always back on charge at night. Just wish I could get 3 days usage like my girlfriends Desire S

Don't forget it,s a unconditioned battery and silly sense stealing power left right and centre .
Today I have turned on launcher pro and see what happens with that power consumption.

yep she is using hers the same as me, albeit the lack of Facebook account. Nice to know like for like what this 1800 would do, but guessing being 1800 rather than 1230, should be better

That would be the main cause for concern for me. One of the guys at work had a higher capacity battery which was, like the 1800mAh, slightly bigger than the stock battery. As a consequence, he struggled to put the battery cover on and once on, it didn't sit flush with the rest of the phone and looked bent. 2-3 weeks later, the battery cover snapped.

You've also got to remember that despite appearing big for a phone, it is quite small to be packing a 1Ghz CPU, the internal storage, RAM and everything else that's needed to run the phone/power the screen. So you've no idea what damage (if any) having a bigger battery wedged in might be doing to the internal components of the phone.

I obviously hope it doesn't (and I've no idea if it is) damage the phone at all but I wouldn't be comfortable having a battery that's even slightly bigger than the stock battery in my handset.

Sounds silly, but can you see anyway of making it smaller? There aren't any labels etc that can be removed to give you an extra couple of mm?

Well the desire S battery is tight as well. Whereas with my HD, it falls out when you tip it to the side, the S you really have to try and get a grip on it to pull it out

Yeah, but HTC designed the Desire S and its battery that way, not a 3rd Party ;).

Like I said, I don't know if it will harm the phone in the long term or not, I just wouldn't be comfortable having it in my handset. I'm not trying to encourage others not to buy it either, just voicing my opinion.

This is kind of how I feel. I hear HTC may have something in the works. I always prefer official products, so I'll likely be waiting on that.
