We are all desperately waiting for the Incredible to come out. This excess amount of time has given me an opportunity to seek out which apps I will eventually download.

    -Where's my Droid
    -Pandora
    -Google Goggles
    -Gameboid
    -PDAnet

    how about you guys?

Assuming that Sling released their app for Android this summer, that's the first app I'll download.

Twidroid will most definitely be the first thing I get. I am a total twitter addict. But this gameboid sounds amazing too.

Great thread idea. As a non smartphone user, I've been wondering what apps are best to get started with. So far great ideas! Google Goggles looks pretty sweet. Thanks again for the info, I'll be back for more app ideas.

My girlfriend has had the Droid since it released, so I've been using her phone to play with apps and fiddle with what I want to put on my phone. My first few apps will be:

    -Last.fm
-AndroZip or Astro (for file management, they are both pretty great)
    -RoboDefense
    -Meebo
    -Picasa or Pixelpipe
-Weather App (whichever one I end up choosing)
-Twitter App (whichever one I end up choosing)

There are a few decisions that still have to be made and when we get closer to actually having the phone in our hands, I'm sure that I will start deciding. I'm not sure I'll need a weather app with Sense UI, though. I might just ask the forum what Twitter app they find the best, because there are quite a few and some of the options I may never use.

If you do anything work related you have to get documents to go.

That will be my first purchase (unfortunately no free alternative)

I just wish they would have put conditional formatting in their excel program. For 30 bucks I think it should be there!

    ^ Yeah.. what a great idea! :)
However is there an app available that does more than just turn on the ringer? Anything like 'find my iPhone' for Android?

    Google Earth
    Swype
Google Voice (It's included but first thing is gonna be to set this sucker up)

Hey guys, new user. This will be my first smart phone, so I really have no idea what's going to be the first. If there is a Sirius/XM app by the time the phone comes out, that would definitely be it, but I doubt that's likely.

I am genuinely shocked that nobody has mentioned "Titanium Backup" yet. A good backup app is A MUST!

thats why we have Pandora! Great internet radio and completely free. There also might be a Last.fm app too, which works pretty similarly.

Yeah, music isn't an issue. I listen to Opie & Anthony on Sirius/XM pretty much every day, and that's why I would love an app on this phone.
