Same issue here, on and off.. I've tried reprogramming my phone but I still get the error. Anyone find a solution to this?

Are you sending it to an AT&T subscriber?

@NKT - Had this issue sending to Verizon and T-Mobile so far... it's intermittent though. But it only started happening after flashing to 2.1

Edit: Each time this happens, the phone thinks the message was not sent... however, it actually was... I know this because I would resend it a few times until it sends and then ask my recipient of they got the text multiple times... and they did.

I would try *228 and see if that fixes it.

Use Chomp. I know its not in the market yet, but you can download it from their website. It's much better anyway and gives me no error.

It's not an error with the SMS app... I've already went that route. Whether I send a text from the default message app, Chomp or Handcent, I will still get this error every now and then.

Maybe it's just a network issue in certain areas

Happened to me at first but then I restarted and it worked properly. Hasn't done it since.

oh well, Chomp looks nicer than Handcent IMO... only thing that I'll miss is the conversation settings for individual contacts.

Mix of fail sents to either Verizon and AT&T friends. But they tell me it was sent and to stop resending the same txt. Gonna jsut ignore the fail icon.

I don't think Handcent has been properly calibrated for 2.1 yet. The first thing i noticed after re downloading all my apps was that Handcent doesn't like to send pics(will though) and texts are having a lot of problems going through. Try rebooting your phone. And remember the 2.1 leak isn't complete, there are bugs in it

you have more self control than I do :p I can't just ignore those. I started using Chomp and have had no errors yet *knock on wood*

it seems that Handcent is actually sending the messages, but comes up as failed
Try a soft reset, it seems to have worked for me

Yup, sending them for sure but Handcent still thinks the message failed.

Soft reset did not work for me.... my solution: Use native app or Chomp until Handcent adjusts to the 2.1 architecture

I've been getting this notification like crazy too, but not every time. I can also confirm that it's actually been sending them.
I'm surprised that I had to ask people though, no one mentioned that I'd been sending messages 3 times each all day. haha

LOL ya no one told me either... I just noticed that the error kept happening and they were responding quickly so I figured I'd ask.

just checked the Handcent site, it says supports the N1 which has 2.1 stock
I really think that this version of 2.1 has quite a few bugs and Handcents compatibility is one of the bugs. I haven't heard anything but has anyone been using the Stock Messaging app with 2.1 and if so how is your awake time? Did 2.1 fix that bug?
