I posted this in the main 2.1 Thread that's stickied up top but got zero responses and curious to know if it is completely off the wall or not.

I am not one for these dumb theories, but it kinda makes you say hmmmm...

So where are my fellow conspiracy theorists?

    Let's Start :)

    * Verizon has issues a few days ago with pushing 2.1 OTA so they delayed the release.
2.1 was complete but they had failures pushing out to testers OTA.

    * Verizon has 3g Outage yesterday, we now know that 2.1 is over 100mb (Were they trying to push 2.1?)

    * Verizon/HTC give up trying to push it OTA and decide to have someone post 2.1 on the XDA site pretending they are from China, knowing that it will spread like wildfire.

While it is spreading now by social sharing, it buys them a bit more time to work out the OTA kinks and keeps all of the phone calls/emails/and walkins from all us fanatics about 2.1. These are the people who will install the leaked version anyway :)

Once the OTA kinks are worked out, 2.1 will be pushed out the the rest of the Eris owners who weren't calling HTC/Verizon daily and have a bit more patience. :)

Furthermore, the guy who leaked it on the XDA site, I don't know, but the Chinese accent he was trying to type in seemed very fake to me.

Sorry to burst your very thin bubble, but the outage yesterday had NOTHING to do with the Eris 2.1...

I'd explain it, but don't wanna waste the eInk.

Please don't double post, if the information is already in the sticky then please discuss it there
