Root 2.1 ROM security (or lack thereof)

    For those of you considering or using the current crop of 2.1 ROMs, none of them, as far as I have seen, enable the full security provided by the Droid's pattern lock.

    If you slide open the keyboard, the phone will unlock...this likely won't be fixed until the 2.1 update for the Droid drops and devs have the Droid-specific bits code to build their 2.1 ROMs.

    That issue is keeping me from seriously considering the 2.1 ROMS for daily use. I play with them, but go back to a 2.01 ROM as my daily driver.

    Just wanted to make sure folks were aware of this - I haven't seen too much discussion of this, and I think it's an important issue for some of us.

    Someone can correct me if this has changed recently...

    Agreed - if the phone unlocks with just the KB (one of the things people play with a lot on the phone when they see mine) then I am avoiding the 2.1 ROMs like the plague.
