So, I have the 2.2.9 leak on my Droid X, working beautiful.
    * Should I sbf back to 2.1 then do official 2.2.15 ota?
    * Should I wait until a developer posts a leak of the 2.2.15?
    * Will I be able to get a future ota - 2.3 etc, if I do nothing?

    Thank u

FWIW, I ran the leak until last night - it worked great. With much trepidation, I followed EricNail's tutorial on reverting to stock 2.1 so I could get the "real" froyo. It went flawlessly and now I'm fully functional on 2.3.15. I say DO IT!!!!

I am also on the first froyo leak which i believe is 2.2.9 ? i also went ahead and loaded FlyX on top of that, seems to be working great (minus a lag when lifting phone from the face and hanging up)... what are the major advantages of moving to the official .15? is there a change log somewhere?
Will a developer be able to get this .15 into an update.zip without loosing or having to wipe my DX ?

edit: Hearing that the 2.2 SBF leak will come soon enough... will i be able to flash to that and have the same baseband version as the OTA ?

I was running the leaked 2.2, sbf'd back to 2.1 then loaded the OTA. I sense the leak was better for some reason don't just know why yet. I would keep it for now just to see what is going to happen.

By the way, there was no difference in the market.

Well, I tried to go through with flashing my Droid X back to 2.1, using Ericnail's tutorial but I ran in to an issue loading the sbf file into RSDLite .... My Win 7 X64 PC did not recognize the sbf file (did not populate in right box), so the 'Start' tab was greyed out! I only have one computer, so could not try it on another.
Maybe this was 'meant to be' & 'The Force' is telling me to WAIT for a developer to release an 'update.zip' with a new version (2.2.15 or 2.3.15 or 2.4 hmmm?)

Extract the SBF folder to your C root directory.

I copied the file to another folder it fixed it. It would then recognize the file, and ungreyed the start button.:D

If you can get to a XPro or even Vista box eric's method works flawlessly ( assuming you have the correct files, I used the originals that were first posted on his thread ). I was in the same boat, and now am on a legit 2.2. I did consider root>leak when I reverted but I'm still not completely comfortable diving into rooting (yet) so I went ahead and updated the OTA. I'm sure someone will have a root method soon for the OTA's OS. BUT as of right now once you update via OTA there is no turning back, but it looks as if that may change very soon.

I am wondering the same thing, I am on the 2.2 first leak, deodexed and some bloat removed. The only real issue I have is, like a little bit ago, I noticed my phone was running 100% according to spare parts for 5 hours. I was still at 80% battery life, but it shouldn't have been running 100% as the GPS bug was fixed in the first 2.2 leak (and I leave GPS disabled) and I am not running any apps that should be using that much.

At the time, LauncherPro was showing as a majority of my battery usage, followed closely by Android System, my display battery usage was almost non-existent as I have hardly used my phone today, but normally the cell radio is the highest if the display is not, and as LP is an app, not a part of the phone, it very well could be the cause of my 100% usage.

Anyway, been thinking more and more about SBF'ing back to 2.1 then update to 2.2 OTA, I have the phone rooted but honestly all I ever use my phone for is calls, email, texts, then the occasional game and internet browsing, I don't use it as an access point, or anything else that would really benefit for me to keep the phone rooted.

Make sure you got the correct SPF. I used the "bomb". Rename the file to something shorter like dx.sbf insted of that long name and it will work.

Yes i believe there are some small fixes to it.
The volume is better. Apps don't shut off when you take it out of the car dock.
It feels smoother And it hasn't locked up 1 single time.

Here's my take on the 2.2 deal. I feel people are much more willing to share problems they have with the OTA than with the leak.
    Just my 2 cent's worth.
