I have had my phone for 3 months now but every time I check it says my phone is up to date.

When will T Mobile have 2.2?

Thats why I've used an Gold card and used the UNBRANDED RUU update courtesy of teppic74 :D

I was really unsure about it but it's worked a treat and now I don't have to wait for T-mobile.

Who wants an bloated and branded OS. Not me! If Microsoft did this there would be hell to pay!

I had my 2.2 upgrade on T-Mobile on Monday mate so hopefully you shouldn't be long now for yours.

That's interesting. No sight of mine yet. Can it be rolled out at different times to different customers? How would they do that?

I've checked for software updates about three times in the last week and no sign.

I doubt T-mobile have even started rolling out updates. I'm sure there would be some sort of announcement

Really starting to get annoyed now, almost halfway through September and they can't give us a date.

This is my latest reply on Twitter:

TmobileUKhelp Hi Craig Froyo will be the month, we'll confirm dates when we get them... it would void the warranty if you rooted the phone tho :(

    Not impressed

Lots of people have 2.2. That does not mean they are standard T-mobile customers that have not altered their phones. More is the pity.

Ok, I'm with T-Mobile, a "standard" customer, have been for years, on Monday of this week I had Froyo 2.2 update to my phone, I have not rooted my phone in anyway shape or form. The upgrade took about half an hour to do, I couldn't use the phone while upgrade took place, not even for emergency calls. If you don't want to believe me don't.

More is the pity? WTF does that mean?

Why wont you show your entire software info screen?

It would give an indication if your version is indeed a T-mobile branded version of Froyo.

It means I wish I had my update. OK, since you are making a point of it I wont call you a liar. But I will call you utterly unique! :D

Does it make a difference that my phone is from CarPhoneWarehouse? Would the update come from them?

I've read some posts about that store selling unbranded Desires, which means your update may have come through HTC and not T-mobile.

In the "Software number" what does your phone say?

Or actually, just take a picture of the entire screen, there is no personal information or even phone specific stuff there!

Yep it would. They're selling desires without branding. My wife has one delivered with 2.2 and no T-Mobile rubbish. It's great!

So it's an unbranded desire, not a t-mobile one. There's the difference.
