Good people I've just upgraded my droid 1 to 2.2.1 but as I look around I see people are upgrading their droid 2's or X's to 2.3.15 or 2.3.20 is it possible for me to do the same thing to my droid 1?

There is a test software being tested on D1 now on some units, and once it is proven to be no bugs, they will distribute it to everyone

Are you still going ahead with testing? I politely bowed out since it's not Gingerbread... chances are that it's FRG83D, something many of us have been running on for a month in one way or another

2.2.1 is an Android software version.

2.3.15/20 are system versions made by Verizon specifically for the DROID 2/X.

The DROID X/2 are on currently on Android 2.2.

System versions and Android versions are two different things

So you are on a higher version of Android if you have 2.2.1.

2.2.1 (FRG830) for the DROID is currently being released over the next 24 hours for TESTERS ONLY and will be fully released soon, once testing goes OK.
