Help 2 problems doing my head in need help please

Hi

The htc desire is my first android phone, I've had for about a week and I'm love'n it. There are just 2 things that i can't sort out.

1. I installed the chompSMS app but when i get a message I a notification for
the chompSMS and I get one for the one that came with the phone
(Messages). Is there a way to disable the one that came with the phone
so I just have one notification?

2. I'm with hotmail and I keep get this error (failed to create the account.
Please try again later.)

My setting are
Email address : name@hotmail.com
Server address : m.hotmail.com
Domain : blank
Username : name@hotmail.com
Password : my email password

I have the (this server requires an encryped SSL connection) box tick


this is a great phone but these 2 problems are bugging the hell out of me any help would be great thanks in advance

1. yes. You will be able to disable notifications somewhere in settings in the stock app.

2. If you search the forum you'll find lots of threads about hotmail issues.

Thanks for the reply mate I found out how to stop the double message notifications.

As for the hotmail active sync all i can find is it's not fully supported yet on android phones. Does anyone know if and when it will be supported?

Seriously though, hotmail.is pretty had. Forward to a gmail account

Yeah I've thought about the switch gmail worked sweet strait up no piss farting around at all
