Looks like Verizon is offering the 32 gb card for $99 with purchase of the Droid X. Looks like a good price to me. Agree?

I'm going from an Itouch 32 gb to the Droid X so I need the gbs.

Is that only available if you buy the phone directly from Verizon? I wonder if BB would have it at that price. :)

I saw it listed in a pdf of Verizon Accessory pamphlet posted on one of these buletin boards a few weeks ago.
  4. To me the 16gb plus the 8gb internal storage is plenty for me

Remember though, that the 8gb internal storage is just for apps, not for media.

hmmmm that is a good question cause i didn't find any 32gb cards on bb's site or on NewEgg even....i'm about 87% sure i'm getting the DX on day of launch...have to wait till i physically hold it in my hand for the other 13%. I will be able to live with the 16gb card tho. ...however that PDF was helpful and i hope they have all of those case/skin options available at launch. Also i liked the NFL skins you can get too.
  7. I know. I have an 8 gb in my phone now and still have lots of space but i guess big users could use the 32 i just don't use that much nor wanna spend$ 100

I can confirm that VZW stores (and I assume online availability) for the 32gb microSD card package will be in-stock come the 15th.

Though as others have pointed out, with 8gb of onboard storage (for Apps) and an additional 16gbs for media and other related items, an additional 32gb seems to be a bit overkill, especially for $100...

The only way I would even consider this, is with a 25% off discount, but even than it seems a bit too high.

I don't care about the 32gb memory card, 16 is more than enough for what I use. BUT, I saw the skins and I just placed my order for the Dallas Cowboys skin!!

I would love a 32gb micro sd, but they are hard to justify when you can get 16gb for $20 or less.

For now I will stick with the included 16gb and maybe carry an additional one around if I need to.

I have less than 500MB free on my Droid's 16gb card. can't wait to get my hands on a 32gb. $100 is a steal considering everywhere else is selling them for closer to $200

Why not get one from Ebay for a lot less? I saw one just sold for <$40. It's like some OEM card or something from Sandisk.

Wow! I wonder how long the promotion will last! I spoke with a vzw customer care Rep today and he said 16gig but wow if it is 32gig, that's one heck of a deal.

Because the ones from ebay are all fake cards hacked to look like 32gb when they are indeed 2 or 4gb cards.

They're coming from sellers who have a 99%+ rating though. Would those power sellers really want to hurt their rating?

Absolutely, I purchased one from a seller with 20000+ rating with several feedback saying they got their 32gb cards.

Shortly after I paid, I got email from ebay that the seller's account has been cancelled/closed/banned and that I should request a refund.

two weeks later I get a package in the mail with what looked like a 32gb micro SDHC card. put it into the computer, looked to be 32gb, copied 32gb of files on there, it accepted it, tried to open those files, none would open. tried to format it, it would not format.

Finally I ran a tool called h2testw on it. and it found the card was a fake, actually only 2gb SD faked to look like 32gb SD.

This from a seller who had 20000+ rating.

I've been watching other 32gb micro sd auctions on ebay, many of those sellers also have very high ratings, and lots of the listings get removed, and sellers accounts cancelled by ebay.

Google it, there are lots of similar stories. Those $30 to $40 32gb microsd cards are all fake.

They do a very good job making it look real, but you should not trust your data on them.

Yep basicly if it is too good to be true it is. Just look at SanDisks site and you will find out it is avail online only from them still.

Oh huh... that's unusual. Well I guess the $100 for a 32gb is a good deal right now.

If the VZW store has it when I pick up my Droid X I will get it. I get 20% discounts on all accessories if I buy at a corporate store or online. Between the music, pictures and video, 32 GB can get used up fast.

With the 2.2 update, apps that the developers allow to be moved, can be moved onto the SD card. Might affect the size of the card you are considering.

Wonder what class that 32GB card is...

    For the price,
I'm guessing class 2... class 4 at the highest.

This is what I have heard as well. I'd love class 6 but I would settle for class 4 at a $99 price point.

Is the difference between classes of SD cards really noticeable?

I will opt for the 32GB if I sell my iPod Touch 32GB. Only problem is I buy/manage my music through iTunes, so the iPod is really convenient... although it's been having some annoying battery life problems with iOS4.

I've never owned an Android device so I have little experience with the media player. Everything I've heard is that it is lackluster, so I hesitate to ditch the iPod.

If I don't mind the media player I'll probably ditch the iPod touch and get an SD card later this year (I'm sure price will come down a bit by then).

It depends on the difference you are talking about and what you are trying to do on the card. If you go from a class 2 to a class 6 you gain 6MB/s. So dependent on how certain things are coded that may write/read heavily from the SD card you're better off going with the higher class.
