3D gaming, Froyo and optimization

    To those who have rooted their desire and installed a custom Froyo ROM: Has the performance of 3D games improved at all? I'm not even that big on 3D mobile games because they don't look very good but the fact that older phones can handle games a lot better than my Desire just bothers me.

    Also I've heard that most ''big'' games on android have so far been ports of their iPhone versions and they have not been optimized for Snapdragon cpus. Is this true? If so can we expect developers to begin focusing more on optimization after Froyo is officially out?

    Just wondering....

    I've only tried a couple of racing games since installing 2.2.

    Raging Thunder 2 & Asphalt 5, both do seem slightly improved, bit smoother framerate wise, not a massive improvement, but noticeable.
