When I went to the Tmo store to look at my G1, I overhead the asst mgr telling a customer that my neck of the woods will be getting 3g in March/April. I brought it up to him, and he confirmed that this is what Tmo is planning. That is great news for me, since I've been surfing on edge, and I need more speed for a hobby of mine, posting scores and play by plays on a web forum.

Does anyone have any info that would substantiate this?

BTW, my location is Brownsville, Tx. Looking on a map, I'm at the southernmost tip.

I'm not sure if this will include all the areas of the Rio Grande Valley, which spans over 50 miles along the southern border. I really don't know. I'm just happy to be getting it.

I sure hope Western New York gets get 3g by May. I am working in Florida in a 3g area until then and it will truly suck to have to go back home to edge after having 3g speed all winter...

I have not been able to find any new roll-out info anywhere, if there is roll-out plan in effect T-mo is keeping it pretty hush hush.

Saw this today 7 felt i should share:

    http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2009/02/17/t-mobile-says-itll-cover-200m-pops-in-3g-by-end-of-year/

"Shoehorned in with its Samsung Memoir announcement today, T-Mobile has announced that it plans on covering 200 million Americans with its AWS 3G network by the end of 2009. That's up from "more than 100 million people" at the end of 2008, so even if you consider "more than 100 million" to be as high as 150 million, that's still a nice boost in HSPA coverage year over year. And considering that we're expecting a barrage of new G series (or at least one or two of 'em) to launch on T-Mob in '09, we'll take just as much 3G as we can get."
