All I want is a widget that turns the 3g on and off. Not one of those widgets that take you to the settings for you to turn it on and off there. Anyone use one and can recommend?

I use the one built into the Beautiful Widgets. Matter a fact I use all of their widgets and they are pretty cool... Plus they work exactly as they are suppose to (The 3G-2G switch is the one called "MOBILE"). Add on that I use their waether and clock attributes, it cuts down having to load another memory soaking app.

Currently using the one from Curvefish because you can relabel it.

App is called APN On Off I think, but I relabel it to 3g

Switchpro is the only toggle widget you'll ever need.

Battery, flashlight, 3G, airplane, silent mode, brightness, GPS, BT etc.

While looking at some of these I came across an app called Data On Demand in the market. It switches the G3 on when the screen is on and switches off when the screen is off. Giving it a try.

You might be interested in MySettings as well which has a free version and has numerous on/off buttons.
