4.1.1 Jelly Bean won't recognise network operator

Hi All, after using these forums to update my phone (Samsung Galaxy GT-i9000) from a terrible 2.1 to 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, and the whole thing runs smoothly, but it doesn't recognize the mobile provider. It says "Error while searching for networks". I tried this with several SIMs, always same result.

Anyone got experience with this?

Your ROM probably is buggy, especially since you're using a custom ROM. Find a different one.

I think the ROMs might be buggy as well. AFAIK 4.1.1 is very recent, might not have been properly tested yet for the Galaxy S.

The only custom ROM I ever run on a Galaxy was 2.3 CyanogenMod7, and that was absolutely fine.
