If you have a GSM Galaxy Nexus from the Play Store then it should be going out to people.

I'm waiting for OTA. Hopefully it's later today or this week.

    I think 4.2 feels slower than 4.1.2.

It's still smooth, but it feels like there's a lot more crap going on.

    photosphere is fun!

I'm likely going to load it tonight. I expect we'll see it being rolled out to current Galaxy Nexus users in a week or two (just my guess, based on how long the rollout took on the last couple of upgrades).

A note for International users: Only the takju version has been released, so far, it will likely take a little longer for the yakju phones to update.

A quick update, I decided to go ahead and load 4.2. I haven't had it long enough yet to let you know what I think, but I do have an important note for those that are upgrading:

IMPORTANT FOR THOSE WHO MANUALLY UPDATE TO 4.2: Once the upgrade is complete, you will not find the Developer Options in Settings anymore. To get Developer options back, go into About Phone and tap on Build Number seven times. After tapping three times, you will see a small message saying that you are four taps away from being a developer.

Apparently Google decided it would be a good idea to hide developer options from the average user, but left a way to still easily bring the options back for people who want them.

I think that would be unlikely given verizons update schedule for the nexus line in the past.

    (So soon I mean)

It took them forever to get 4.1 on their devices

Interesting question. We'll hope for a few weeks; hopefully Verizon can forget about trying to create a 4.1.2 update and jump directly to 4.2.

    Did a little more homework.

4.1 JB was announced back around June. Verizon nexus got it rolling out as an official OTA on Sept 21. I'm not sure when the GSM phones got it... but lets just say it was a little over 2 months.

Now, I forgot the Verizon Gnex finally got added back into AOSP, so you guys should see a much faster update than last time.

    Im pulling for ya! :D

After playing with 4.2 a little, there are some interesting new features but nothing major. One interesting item is that there are new options for the lock screen. If you move the lock screen (much like switching between pages on the home screen) to the left, it brings up the camera. If you move it to the right it shows widgets you can add to the home screen: a calendar, digital clock, Gmail preview, messaging, and Sound Search.

When you pull down notifications, the settings button is now in the top right corner and, when you select it, it shows 8 boxes. These boxes are user information, brightness, settings, wifi, data usage, battery, airplane mode, and bluetooth.

As I've mentioned, developer options does not show up on the settings menu unless you enable it (by pressing "Build Options" in the About phone section seven times).

I'm not noticing much difference in speed, ymmv. I've also had problems with only one app so far; GrooveIP will not sign into Google Voice. Per the GrooveIP people, Google changed on of the libraries GrooveIP used for encryption, they hope to have an update out in a couple of days.

    I got it yesterday afternoon.
I started using the Nexus as my daily driver back a month ago when I just about destroyed my One S in a freak drop kick.
(literally, dropped the phone and kicked it in my attempts to catch it...)

There is one issue that is about to make me go mad...
Every email I get the phone vibrates no matter what I do.
I can't seem to turn that off...

    Otherwise it's been fine.

Anyone else finding the new lock screen generally quite buggy?

In particular, occasionally the clock widget expands to cover up the unlock ring...

Not here, but I did a fresh install of the full 4.2 factory image

I'll second that I haven't had problem with the lock screen but I also did a fresh install.
