I'm having trouble with my Samsung Epic Touch 4G, where 4G appears to shut off whenever the screen lock is engaged. While screenlock is engaged, I don't get any new messages which would come in over the 4G network. When I turn the phone back on, all the backed up messages appear within a few seconds. This behavior also seems to occur with wifi. It does not occur with 3G, SMS, or MMS services. I've checked in my settings and battery saving mode is off and I have no other battery management apps installed. Has anyone experienced this problem before, and can anyone suggest ways it can be fixed?

I don't live in a 4g area, but my best guess is that it's built into the system to disable itself to preserve battery and memory while the phone isn't in use.

I've looked myself and couldn't find an option to disable this.
