4g is intermittent

When I first got the connect. I worked in a facility with very poor reception. So I never paid to much attention to the 4g until I got off work and then i was home so did not use my phone much. Now that I no longer work there I am noticing that I am averaging only an hour or so of 4g service in an 8 hour period. i am drivngaround town and if i need to google something I cant because i have no bars. I live in S Florida which has good 4g service. My wife does not have this issue with her Motion 4g. I am rooted. I tired the BO rom but it was consuming too much battery life so I am now on stock rooted.

I'm in s Florida as well Homestead area. Yes 4g stinks on off speeds up and down. Most of the time I put it on 3g so I don't have to watch the 4g drop out. Updated prl doesn't help either.
