I used an iPhone for over a year and tried the Evo for about 3 weeks. I've only had the DroidX for a day and a half now but I'm convinced this is the best cell phone I've ever had. I can definitely say I don't miss all the dropped calls I had on the iPhone. I've probably talked on the DroidX for 5 hours the past two days with ZERO dropped calls, not even a bad connection. The call quality and clarity is awesome. I somewhat miss the simplicity and efficiency of the iPhone UI. Seems like there are often too many "clicks" on the Droid to get to what you normally do. And I think there are a few bugs, while minor, that need to be worked out. I noticed when I pull down the alarms/events from the top, and say it was a missed call and I click on it, it doesn't necessarily take me to that specific missed call, it takes me to the first on the list that I may have checked before. I miss the dialer on the Evo, where you could start typing in letters to a name and it found the contact. Much quicker than doing a search. Anyone know if there is a dialer app for download that would be the same as the one on the Evo? I think I preferred the 4 hard buttons on the bottom of the DroidX when they were on the touch screen of the Evo. Perhaps I'll get used to the hard buttons, time will tell. The camera on the DroidX seems to have a few problems, perhaps it's my learning curve, perhaps it needs some fine tuning in the next OS release. Like the Evo, the screen really sucks in sunlight. I mean it really, really sucks. Overall, minor issues compared to all the positives. I'm almost to the point, perhaps past it, that even if the iPhone4 was sold by Verizon, I might prefer the DroidX. I am confident that once 2.2 is out, I wouldn't even have to consider that option.
