A couple of questions regarding rooting + lagfix

    Hey there,

Just got my SGS yesterday and it's been great so far, but the minor lag is a bit irritating so I decided to try and apply the 1 Click Lagfix. Seemed pretty straight forward, but it turns out that my phone is part of the newer batch which doesn't support the 3 button recovery mode, therefore stopping me from applying the fix :(. I've tried a lot of methods to work around this, but none have worked so far.
Can I use an alternate method of reaching recovery mode? Will the procedure of installing the fix be effected in any way if I do this?

One more question, concerning the lag fix itself: It seems strange that something so small can improve the performance of the phone by so much. If it's so simple, why wouldn't Samsung include a similar fix as a software patch? Is there a tradeoff involved here?

    Thanks for any replies

Although this post is old thought I would tell you about something I stumbled on.

    ATTEMPT at YOUR OWN RISK.

on updated captivate (JH7) maybe its the same on your sammy for the three button reboot, this worked for me dont ask me how as I do NOT know. Installed RyansOCLF did the first step for root and shut the phone down, After several reboots, each time holding the three buttons all at the same time, the successful attempt was, let the initial screen (mine is the AT&T logo) flash four times while holding all three buttons. After the fourth flash let off of the POWER button and then press the power button again one time as the initial screen comes on again, let go of all the buttons and allow the phone to boot. Then go to your settings and do a factory reset. I was convinced that I could not get into recovery mode and technically never saw the recovery screen, but after the factory reset as I scrolled through the screens there sat the beautiful android and crossbones icon ( root) and Ryans oneclick is running beautifully in my phone I am so happy with it that the GPS issue does not even bother me, as that is somewhat fixed pretty well too though, but thats another post.
