a way to turn off the shortcut pull tab?

First caveat: non techy mom of six, so step by step rookie help needed here .

Anyway, is there a way for me to turn off the shortcut pull tab that is about an inch from the bottom of the screen on the left? It blocks letters on the keyboard and is totally annoying when it pops me other places while I'm trying to text or email. Can anyone help me please?

All you need to do is to long press on the back button. Just do the same to make it reappear. Cheers!

If you mean the multi window tab, you can also turn off multi window in the notification shade, or move the tab up or down to make it more convenient for you.
