Accessing photos on locked S6 phone ?

Hi, my daughter's partner has tragically died she has his phone that is password protected. As he took many happy photos of them together is there any way she can get access to the photos, unfortunately given her distressed state she can't remember his phone password ?
Any advice very welcome.

should be the way to go.. They must deal with this all the time, so I'm sure they'll be sensitive to her situation.

Update.......
Chap advertising locally was able remove password lock using a laptop program.
