Accidentally dialing a previous number

Newbie to the forum. Checked out other threads and didn't see any posts regarding this issue. When I'm in dialer mode and go to redial the most recent number I've called, the phone will often call a previously dialed number instead. Super frustrating.

Would using a different dialer help, and if so, does anyone have a recommendation?

Also, lately I cannot shut the phone off. Powering down just reboots the phone and doesn't power it off. Does wonders for the already crappy battery life since the kit kat upgrade. Anyone else having this issue?

There are a lot of dialers, all probably better than stock.

I use Dialer One and have for years. Love it.
Other popular ones are ExDialer and RocketDial. I tried both of those and they are good, just decided to stick to Dialer One.
