Accidently cleared contacts, Galaxy. Contacts wont show after sync?

Samsung Galaxy, I accidently cleared my contacts data. I tried syncing with my gmail and it shows only a 5th of my contacts.
But if I type in a phone number to make a call and I add that # to my Contacts, it will show the full list of my contacts for it to be added to!
But if I go directly to Contacts from my main screen, after the number has been added, It wont open the original full list, only the partial list.
I can't figure out how to open the full list now!

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

First off welcome to the forums :)

Try going into your contacts settings then seeing what accounts are showing, it could not be showing a bunch of contacts because of that.

Sounds to me like an option is ticked/un ticked to show contacts with just numbers

Thank you, Sorry first post on this forum.

It is showing T-mobile account (Sync On) and my Gmail account (Sync on)
There is also my Facebook account but I have it on Sync Off.

    Background data (checked)
    Auto Sync (checked)

From my main page I can click on Contacts folder and it will show only a few contacts.
If I dial a number to make a call, then click to add # to contacts, It will open another full list. I can save it to that list, but when I go back to my main screen to open Contacts, it only opens the partial list, not including the # I just added.
