ADB Connect command

I've been trying to use ADB to connect to my android device via ADBWireless. However, I can not access the "adb connect <ip>" command as apparently it doesn't exist. I have the most recent version of Android SDK and can not solve this problem... the command prompt say I have Android Debug Bridge version 1.0.22. In the command list from the command prompt, where sources tell me connect and disconnect commands should be, they're missing. What's up here?
