I recently started tinkering with aHome as I was interested n all the theme options. I also really liked the bottom app bar that is on all home screens. I liked being able to have 4 apps available to me on all screens.

Anyway, I noticed on my Droid that the items on the bottom do not line up the way they do in all the aHome screen shots and theme screen shots. In particular the page indicator dots are lower and are hidden by the bottom bar. The two drawer triggers on the left and right edge are also too low and partially block icons on the bottom bar too.

Is this a problem with themes or the app itself? Have any of you noticed this? Is there a work around?

    Thanks,
    John

Bumping the thread. I appreciate any help on this. As it is now, I can't really use most of the themes I have tried. IN particular the background for the bottom toolbar is always to narrow and doesn't fill the width of the screen.

Are there Droid specific themes available?

    Thanks,
    John

If you can get by w/out the whole theme aspect, you should try out Helixlauncher. It's got elements from the 2.1 launcher in it. Customizable upto 7 screens, the shortcuts to jump to any tab you want, and it gives you 4 shortcut links that show up on the bottom of every screen.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am trying it right now and really like it so far. I like the simplicity of it. The thing I liked most about aHome was the fixed 4 icons on the bottom. This covers that. The themes were mostly secondary and were basically what caught my attention and introduced me to aHome and the bottom bar. Before that I was using GDE and really like it, but it got a little laggy and didn't have the bottom bar that was shown on all screens. I like the screen preview that helix offes, but how do I pull it up with screens that are full with widgets or icons?

    Thanks,
    John

Really like Helix after playing with a bit today. It is now set as my default home app. Not missing the others ...

Do you have a droid? Did you find the problem I originally reported? It has to be related to resolution, but I'm surprised the guys that made aHome haven't updated to account for it. Perhaps it is just that the images in the themes are the wrong size? Saw another theme in my rss feed tonight from andropid apps or something similar and it kills me that the themes look so cool in the screenshots, but not nearly as good on my Droid.

The developer fro aHome replied to me yesterday. They were very responsive, but the news was not good for me:

I am going to stick with Helix regardless I think. I do like the 4 icons on the bottom and the screen preview cards. Though the cards aren't that useful unless a screen has widgets on it. Otherwise they all look the same.

The themes for aHome and others look cool, but i am more interested in speed, convenience and stability.
