Just finished rooting my droid after an epic struggle! In about phone it says that I am on 2.2. I followed a rather in depth walkthrough and so far not to impressed. Am I missing something, or am I the only one?

I don't understand what you're saying. What were you expecting?

Not too impressed with what? You've only taken the first step so far.
Rooting simply unlocks your phone's hardware, allowing you to increase performance levels and enjoy apps that utilize specific hardware that you previously could not.
You still need to introduce software into the phone, be it additional apps, an exploitive ROM, or both.

I guess I don't understand your question. If you were able to find and follow the guide to rooting, how in the world did you miss the COUNTLESS threads pertaining to the performance of all the Froyo roms? Did you root just for the sake of rooting, or did you root so that you could increase your Droid's performance?

I have downloaded a rom and a kernel. I don't know? I guess I was hoping for something like a hj button or something with all the hype 2.2 has been getting;)

I must say though . I do like that next time someone tries to claim that thier evo is cooler than my droid I can just give them a tour of things to come!

To the OP though - Is having the most full featured and arguably fastest Android phone in the world not good enough?

Hey man it was late when I finally set Dr. Jake (yes I am that guy that names his phone:D) down. I am still exploring. Those were just my first thoughts! My phone is amazing and I could not be happier with it.

and If you don't know what an hj is than there is no way you can afford one!!!!

Try playing around with flash. Adobe Flash showcase for mobile is a good place to start.
